A watercolor entitled “Crimson Passion” can be found at the Flagstaff Airport and another mosaic piece utilizing five different types of mosaic tessera entitled “Woman Pouring Water” can be found at the City of Flagstaff building.

Patty has been a Radiologic Technologist for 23 years. She says her husband has been her greatest inspiration to pursue her artwork. She believes he sees the creative potential within her that she feels she has yet to fully discover, but has been blessed to have the opportunity to explore.

Patty also creates one of a kind jewelry utilizing hot glass techniques and original music boxes utilizing stained glass techniques. She markets her artwork under the name Peace and Joy Works of Art and her work can be found in various gift stores and galleries in the Verde Valley area as well as in Manhattan Beach, California.

The Artist

Patty Buddeke is an artist living in Rimrock, Arizona who mainly works in glass mediums of all kinds from Stained glass to hot glass to mosaic. Patty enjoys the versatility of glass as well as the many ways she is able to use light to play on the glass surface creating illusions and emphasis in the work.

Patty was born in Washington Township, New Jersey, a small town right outside of New York City and spent much of her early years studying dance both in New Jersey and in New York City. While she was always crafting things through those years it wasn’t until she was an adult that she was moved to take a class in Watercolor which began a whole process of exploring new mediums with which to express herself, a journey which she feels will never end.

Patty enjoys learning new things and has recently rediscovered her love for dance. By day she works in her studio creating hot glass, stained glass ad mosaic treasures. By night she lives in the beauty of the style of dance known as hula. After one year of study she has been graduated to the most advanced class offered in her Halau hula, (School of hula). Patty is also a talented singer.
